Chateau de Maligny is the largest private
producer of Chabis wine in the region
and is in fact the largest estate in
all of Burgundy.
Located in the very heart of the Chablis appellation,
the vineyards contain a high
concentration of steep, well-exposed hillsides
of rocky soil, terrain that guarantees
the exceptional quality of the wine.
The property consists of 480 acres of vineyard
land producing approximately
125,000 case of estate bottle Chardonnay.
This estate begain
bottling their own production only in 1974; prior to that date,
their wines
were sold as bulk wine to other wine companies.
Chateau de Maligny has been honored, by receiving the highest awards possible
in nearly every international wine competition.
Chardonnay, the inimitable variety of wine grape used in Chabls, is the source
of excellent wines known for their rich bouqueet, subtlety, and beautifuul
greenish-
gold color.
The Chabllis vintages from Jean Durup vineyards go wonderfully with oysters
and
shellfish, as well as with all kinds of fresh and saltwater fish, grilled
or poached,
served with mousseline sauce of white butter. They also
provide the perfect
accompaniment to fine charcuterie, white meats and number
of cheeses.
Its
wines
appear in all of the famous Michelin
restaurants in France.
