CROZES HERMITAGE
DOMAINE MICHEL POINARD

This 20 acre vintage is planted 100% with the Syrah grape. 
Only 4500 cases are produced.  The vines averaging 35 years
of age barely produce the maximum allowable quantity permitted.

Only hand picking occurs during the harvest.  The grapes are
allowed to macerate under cold conditions for maximum extraction;
then they are pressed pneumatically.

The 2005 vintage is extraordinary.  It is full bodied, complex
and powerful.  The bouquet is fruity and spicy.  Tasting reveals
an elegant structure and a perfectly balanced wine.
